This paper explores the potential of Human-to-Human (H2H) Marketing as a tool for building social capital and community empowerment. H2H, with its focus on authentic relationships, empathy, and co-creation, is presented as a strategic model for social organizations, NGOs, and public institutions seeking to strengthen community ties, promote citizen participation, and facilitate social development. The paper analyzes how adapting H2H to the social context can generate trust, facilitate collaboration, and empower communities to be protagonists of their own development. H2H seeks to humanize relationships between organizations and people, recognizing the individuality of each community member and adapting interactions to their needs. This approach involves building relationships of trust, facilitating citizen participation in the design and implementation of social projects, and providing tools for the community to be the protagonist of its own development. Examples are presented of organizations that have successfully used H2H, such as the TECHO Foundation and the NGO Acción contra el Hambre. While H2H offers great potential, the challenges and counterarguments presented by its implementation are also examined. These include the oversimplification of human relationships, the difficulty of scalability, the possibility of manipulation, the neglect of structural problems, the subjectivity of empathy, resource intensity, authenticity, short-term focus, and technological limitations. Despite these challenges, H2H offers a path to building more just, equitable, and collaborative societies, strengthening community ties and promoting citizen participation. It is essential to be aware of the counterarguments and challenges to ensure its correct implementation and maximize its impact on community empowerment.
