Una crítica de la noción de dependencia humana en el Emilio de Rousseau desde la ética del cuidado

Este trabajo hace una crítica a la noción de dependencia de Rousseau en el Emilio. Rousseau, en su modelo ideal del “hombre salvaje” rechaza la dependencia humana como eminentemente inmoral y causa de la dominación de un ser humano sobre otro, contribuyendo con esta visión a la construcción del individuo moderno, autónomo y autosuficiente. La ética del cuidado, en cambio, concibe la dependencia como un dato ineludible de la existencia humana, que debe ser incorporada en la discusión ética y política. Me serviré de algunos textos de Eva Feder Kittay para construir esta crítica, específicamente The Moral Significance of Being Human y Love’s Labor: Essays on Women, Equality and Dependency.
