The silence of God. Analysis of an extract from Citadel by Saint-Exupéry

The purpose of this article is to reflect on a beautiful extract from Saint-Exupéry’s posthumous work entitled Citadel. It recounts a dream in constant contrast to the waking state and establishes a correlation between dreaming and waking similar to that described in Freud’s psychoanalysis. By analysing the content of the dream, we can identify two significant moments: an initial ascending moment and a subsequent descending moment.
